What are the eligibility criteria to apply for Indian Railway jobs?


For Applying for Indian Railways Jobs in Group A and B, You must Graduate or Postgraduate.
For Applying for Indian Railways Jobs in Group C and D, Minimum 10th pass or any other equivalent or ITI diploma holders can apply.


What are the Different Types of Jobs in Indian Railways?


There are basically 5 types of Groups in which Indian Railways Jobs can be Divided. Let's have a  look into these different types of Groups and their Posts which are given below.

Group ‘A’:  Exams for Indian Railways Group ‘A’ Jobs carried out by UPSC.  All Candidates are appointed through various exams such as Civil exams, Engineering Service exams, and Combined Medical Service examinations.

Group ‘B’: Indian Railways Group ‘B’ posts are not directly open for all. For these posts, only railway employees of Group ‘C’ can apply.

Group ‘C’:  In Group ‘C’ Posts there are many posts such as Technical and Non-Technical cadre posts like Clerk, Station Master, Ticket Collector, Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice, Engineering posts (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Signal & Telecommunication) and many more.

Group ‘D’:  In Group ‘D’ Posts there are many posts such as Trackman, Helper, Assistant Points Man, Safaiwala / Safaiwali, Gunman, Peon, etc.

Other Posts in Indian Railways: These Posts are related to other departments of Indian Railways such as TI Apprentices, Sports Quota, Cultural Quota, Scouts and Guides Quota, etc.
